LumiBee

A unique DIY resin 3D printer for smartphones

Discover LumiBee: we designed it, you make it by yourself!

The new Maker Project by Lumi Industries.

The first incredibly low cost DIY Open Source visible light resin 3D printer for mobiles.

what is Lumibee?

Lumibee is a Free project totally available to the Makers' community, DIY fans and 3D printing lovers.

The LumiBEE is a unique compact 3D Printer that uses photosensitive liquid resin. It has been designed so that 95% of its parts can be printed with a desktop Filament 3D Printer. The LumiBee is also particular since it uses the screen of a mobile phone, inserted inside, to transform Daylight liquid resin into a three-dimensional object.Daylight resin for 3D printing allows most cellphones to be used as a light source to polymerize the resin. This allows us to give a second life to slightly outdated mobiles.

Lumibee is a challenge we launch to all of you! It is a early stage idea we hope will stimulate your curiosity and enthusiasm, not only to simply replicate it, but to improve it and make it grow!

IS Lumibee really a free of charge project?

Lumibee is a FREE Open Source project we, at Lumi Industries, want to share with the Maker community we belong to. and with anybody wanting to take the challenge! Nevertheless creating a complex project like Lumibee, with hardware and software development, always involves an investment of time and efforts.

You can download, replicate, improve and especially enjoy this project free of charge, but if you really liked it, if you really think it is cool, then we invite you to make a donation to help us sustain and further develop the Lumibee.

“We will be launching soon non-flammable PLAQuantum-FRVO 3D  filament, which is currently under thermal test. It is a perfect material to be in contact with electronic components as it provides extra safety and fire prevention in case of electrical malfunctioning. We are happy to support all makers who are going to take the LumiBee challenge!” - Paolo Toldo, CEO of 3D Filum

We are glad that users of Zortrax printers use our equipment for creative projects and share their solutions with the tech enthusiasts community. The ability to create your own devices, modify and improve them is one of the most important things 3D printing brings to the table. We are excited to see how people will transform and modify LumiBee in the future - Rafał Tomasiak, CEO of Zortrax
